Split a PDF

Pull out the pages you actually need, or break a document into one file per page. Nothing is uploaded on the way.

How to split a PDF

STEP 1

Add your PDF

Drop it on the box above and the page count appears underneath.

STEP 2

Say which pages

Type them as 1-3, 7, 10-12 — or switch to splitting every page into its own file.

STEP 3

Save what you need

Each result is listed separately so you can save just the ones you want.

Pages, not screenshots

It is tempting to screenshot the page you need and send that instead. Don't — a screenshot loses the selectable text, prints badly, and is obviously a screenshot to whoever receives it.

Splitting keeps the real page: same text, same quality, same size on paper. What comes out is a proper PDF, just a shorter one.

A common use is sending one page of a bank statement or one clause of a contract without handing over the whole document. Taking the page out here means the rest of it was never sent anywhere either.

Questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The work happens inside this tab, on your own machine. Open your browser's network tab while you use the tool, there is no request carrying your file.

Is there a file size limit?

None set by us. Very large files are limited only by your device's memory, and we warn you before that becomes a problem.

Do I need an account?

No, and there is no daily limit either. There is nothing to sign up for.

Can I reorder the pages too?

Yes, but in the rotate and reorder tool — it shows every page so you can drag them around.

What if I type a page that does not exist?

It is ignored rather than failing, and the count under the file tells you how many pages you are actually keeping.
